Macros Manual

We want you to get the best from your Rockcity Macros.  In order to achieve this then please follow all safety advice.  All macros should be fitted/installed by a suitably trained or experienced professional.  take care not to overtighten or spin out the screw placements as this may result in your macro coming away from the climbing wall surface and could injure the climber, belayer or another person in the immediate area.  Modern Impact drivers are getting more and more powerful, causing unnecessary damage when not used with respect.

Screw-On Fixing - All of our Macros have been designed to be fixed to a flat climbing wall surface using 5mm Countersunk Wood Screws (T25 or KTX) only.  Make sure to use all screw holes provided, if there are six screw holes, then use six screws.  All screws must be a minimum of 25mm (1") of thread still visible out of the back of the climbing hold (before installing) to ensure it is completely attached into the climbing wall surface.

Cleaning -  All of our Macros can be power washed using a mild acid solution, e.g. citric acid and warm water (up to 40°C) to remove shoe rubber and chalk.  Make sure you rinse off with clean water to avoid any build up of residue on the holds.  Make sure not to use the power washer jet nozzle closer than 35cm so as not to damage the textured surface.  You can use any soft brushes to gently aggitate the surface to remove marks.  On dual texture gloss surfaces, a sponge and washing up liquid will remove any stubborn rubber marks and use auto paint polish or furniture polish to restore the high gloss finish, taking care not to get polish on the textured part, especially wher ethe polish is a differnet colour to the Macro.

Inspection - Always inspect your Macros prior to use.  Any cracks or damage to the screw or bolt holes or any defect that results in a sharp or dangerous defect should be withdrawn from use immediately.

Care - Treat your Macros well and they will last for longer.  Dropping or throwing them will result in damage which will reduce the nice appearance of your holds or damage them beyond repair.  Even rough treatment stacking them or in crates or boxes, where the climbing holds can rub together will likely scratch and wear your holds prematurely.  Placing them separately in storage, as opposed to stacking them will significantly maintain the new appearance of your Macros.
