Why dual texture matters

Dual texture is the defining finish of modern competition setting. One feature carries two surfaces: a coarser, grippier texture across the intended contact zones, and a smooth finish across everything else. It is not decorative — it is a setting tool. The rough zone is the climbing surface; the smooth zone defines where the body moves around or past it.

On a comp wall that legibility keeps movement readable for climbers and judges alike. In a commercial gym it reduces the ambiguity that leads to misread problems and repeated falls, and lets setters hold consistent grades across a wall section. The Iconic Stealth families

The heart of the dual texture range is the Iconic Stealth line — angular, aviation-inspired families including the B-2, F-117, A-12 and SU-57, each in multiple profiles and sizes from 600 mm to 2400 mm. Dual texture finishes also extend to selected Transformer shapes including block tapers, hexes and shards. Availability per shape is shown live in the catalog.

Same build, competition finish

Dual texture volumes share the birch plywood construction and fixing patterns of the whole Rockcity line, manufactured in-house in Hull. The finish changes how a volume sets and reads — not how it installs. For walls that want the same look across prints and paints, the safari print range uses the same dual-texture principle with Leopard, Tiger and Zebra surfaces.

Availability and dispatch

The catalog shows a live dispatch estimate for every volume: finished stock dispatches immediately, shapes held as blanks in Hull are finished on a four-week turnaround, and everything else is made factory direct on a twelve-week lead.
