Crobes are an ever changing, mutating set of holds, usable in any rotation, with any number of combinations that are not easily diagnosed by the unsuspecting climber. There is no known antidote for these infectious shapes and the only remedy is to find a way to lock onto them. Nobody is immune to these ‘Crobes, they can strike at any time. Watch out as they disguise themselves in a number of forms, making it harder to identify the risk, as they can appear to be Pinches, Slopers, Crimps or sometimes Gastons. Regular and controlled exposure will help to build up resistance to the ‘Crobes and will eventually lead to a stronger, healthy body and mind. Ready to fight off the next challenge.

What do the numbers mean?
| Value | What it means |
|---|---|
| 600, 900 etc. | Longest dimension of the hold in millimetres |
| 45° | Full-on sloper — very low grip angle |
| 61°, 90° | Texture angle in degrees. 90° is a right-angle surface to the wall — the higher the number, the more incut |
| 105°, 120° | Progressively more incut profiles |
| +1, +5, +9 | Incut holds. The higher the + number, the more positive the grip. +9 is a really big jug |
| 0 | Neutral profile |
| −1, −2 | Negative profile — very difficult to hold on a vertical wall |
